Competencies

ALTERNATIVE TERMS & CONDITIONS

This project is based on the habit that, before using an application, users often agree to terms and conditions without reading them. Taking WeChat as an example, it explores how to awaken users’ awareness of their privacy and non-privacy information protection when they authorize their data to commercial companies. Aided by motion graphic narrative design and by introducing speculative design thinking, the design inspires users to be responsible about their personal privacy as a consumer and as the public. It does this by demonstrating potential positive and negative future scenarios, making users better express their own attitudes towards terms and conditions.
