I’m Yaqi (Dark), I come from China. After studying for 4 years in the experimental media studio in BA and working for 2 years in the Internet company, I chose to return to university for further studies. I hope that the products and designs I make are no longer as they were in the past, focusing only on eye-catching visual effects or expressing my own emotions and attitudes, or just for business KPIs. I am good at researching, discovering requirement and linking user, design and business. I am always attracted by social topics such as environmental pollution, food health and education of refugee children, etc. I often travel and do volunteer work to better integrate myself into the real situation. During the one-year study of UX Studio, I was very happy to explore many related topics and complete a series of thinking and design schemes.

YouFarm

The media is full of reports telling us what is and isn’t healthy for us to eat and the latest food scandals. Consumers are still largely kept in
the dark about the food they eat and how it is produced. I propose a consumer-focused platform built on blockchain for transparency and absolute accountability. The project leverages KPIs from growers about how they produce food and presents it to consumers in the form of an app. The app encourages growers to continually improve their practices and share this information with consumers. In addition to synchronous planting information and real- time chat and q&a sessions in the YouFarm, consumers can establish their own virtual farms linked to real offline crops, allowing the buyers to participate more from planting to output.
