City Scent Lab

In the context of digital society, the ‘Nearby’ is vanishing as people are either concerning matters strongly related to themselves, or commenting on remote events of little to no personal relevance. The gap between individuals and their vicinity is ever-widening, especially in an area of rapid transformation like Elephant & Castle. With the ‘City Scent Lab’, a multisensory experience consists of an interactive installation and designed journey contents, our team wish to raise people’s awareness of this phenomenon, to encourage people’s exploration of their surroundings through local stories, and to reconstruct people’s relationship with each other and the ‘Nearby’.
