After Hours

Afterhours delves into the nocturnal realm of London's hotel industry, spotlighting the experiences of night shift workers—a group often invisible in the urban world. This project is an empathetic critique and a call to action, offering night shift workers a voice. It explores the unique challenges these workers face, from disrupted sleep patterns to social isolation, through the lens of critical, speculative, and discursive design. Exhibiting a hotel reception experience, interventions, such as customized sleep aids and communal spaces, are proposed and examined, not just for their utility but as conversation catalysts for industry-wide change.
